On 8 October in Tallinn, the Estonian supervision authority, Finantsinspektsioon, organised an international conference at which attendees from 15 countries discussed current topics relevant to the functioning of the financial sector and the competitiveness of the economy. The discussions focused on, among others, the simplification of regulations and methods of protection against cyber threats. In 2026, the conference will be hosted in Warsaw by the KNF as part of the KNF's 20th anniversary.
The Chair of Finantsinspektsioon, Kilvar Kessler, said he was very pleased to welcome key decision-makers from European financial markets to Estonia and discuss with them topics that were vital for the sector. He added that the best decisions came from regional cooperation and meaningful discussions. ‘We are making this high-level financial conference into a tradition that will continue next year and will be hosted by our Polish colleagues,’ he noted.
Jacek Jastrzębski, Chair of the KNF, said he was happy to pick up the baton to organise the conference launched by Finantsinspektsioon. ‘We are very pleased that we will be able to hold this essential conference for leaders in finance again next year. We are continuing the relay and we look forward to seeing everyone in Warsaw,’ he said.
The international conference organised on 8 October 2025 by Finantsinspektsioon was attended by participants from Estonia and other countries. The event gathered leaders and representatives from European financial supervision authorities, central banks, commercial banks, and financial sector firms.
