The financial prize of 15 000 zloties in the 12th edition of the Competition for the Award of the Chair of the KNF Board for the best PhD dissertation in the field of financial market has been awarded to Marcin Szatkowski, PhD, for his paper: ‘One-year and ultimate premium and reserve risk in insurance’, written under the guidance of prof. dr hab Łukasz Delong, at the Collegium of Economic Analysis of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
The Jury awarded a distinction in the amount of 5 000 zloties to Bartosz Wyżykowski, PhD, for his PhD dissertation titled ‘Liability for the execution of payment transactions’, written under the guidance of prof. UWr dr hab. Edyta Rutkowska-Tomaszewska, University of Wrocław, Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics.
The Jury also highlighted the high standard of PhD dissertations submitted for the 12th edition of the Competition.
Since the 12th edition, the Competition has been open to authors of PhD dissertations written not only in Polish but also in English. 23 PhD papers were submitted for the 12th edition and it is the second best result in the Competition’s history.
On 17 November 2023, the Chair of the KNF Board Jacek Jastrzębski and the Chair of the Competition Jury Michał Kruszka offered congratulations to the author of the winning PhD dissertation and the author of the distinguished PhD dissertation.
