‘Finance Leaders’ contest distinction for Dariusz Adamski

Dariusz Adamski, Deputy Chair of the KNF, has been awarded a distinction by the ‘Finance Leaders’ contest committee. The main goal of the contest is to award individuals who make a significant contribution to the development of finance in Poland. The contest is organised once a year as part of the spring edition of Banking & Insurance Forum.

The special prize from the Forum’s ‘Finance Leaders’ contest committee has been awarded to the authors of the ‘Innovate Poland’ initiative, for creating a nationally unique model of cooperation among administration, academia, and public and private sectors for modern economy.

The contest committee awarded distinctions for personal engagement to Andrzej Domański (Minister of Finance and Economy), Dariusz Adamski (Deputy Chair of the KNF), and Piotr Matczuk (President of the Management Board of the Polish Development Fund – PFR S.A.), whose joint actions have allowed for the creation of a strategic vision of development of Poland’s innovation ‘ecosystem’. The contest committee appreciated the winners’ courage and determination to think outside the box and to build solid foundations and a framework for capital engagement by financial institutions as well as public and private companies in financing innovative projects of private entities, designed to improve the competitiveness of Poland’s economy.

When receiving the award, Dariusz Adamski said that the ‘Innovate Poland’ programme originated from the confidence in the very promising future of the private capital market, which offered firms something more that the public market does: not only financing, but also real competence support on a rapid growth path. This, however, depends on the development of unique skills on the part of investors. Effective skill building mostly relies on cooperation with experienced partners, and no one is more experienced in this area in Poland than PFR Ventures.

‘One and a half billion zloties is to be invested over the period of more than 18 months under Future Tech Poland only, and the room for investments in this most challenging segment of the private capital market is much larger. The private equity segment in Poland and in this part of Europe has an even greater potential. This is why I strongly believe that Innovate Poland – a project open for all the institutions in our financial market – will succeed,’ Dariusz Adamski said.
