Sebastian Skuza spoke at the ForFin conference

Sebastian Skuza, Deputy Chair of the KNF, took part in the panel: ‘Polish investor in 2024. The role of investors in the market. How to get ALL Poles to start investing?’. The panel took place as part of the ForFin conference, organised by the Polish Association of Individual Investors.

Sebastian Skuza addressed the results of the National Investor Survey.

The results are very optimistic. Nearly half of the respondents point to the need to save money for retirement, which shows that the awareness of demographic challenges is rising. Today it is crucial to understand that saving for the future has become indispensable. In this context, the capital market, with its offer, seems to be the optimum place.

A perfect response to the need to build up savings for retirement comes from the market of collective investment instruments. Studies show a huge interest in the ETF instruments. Nevertheless, the domestic market of investment funds is also a perfect space for creating long-term savings (PPK).

It is in the best interest of all capital market participants that more complex financial instruments should be offered by means of advisory services. This way investors can take informed and responsible  decisions by mitigating risks. Financial education is something that should be emphasised all the time: on one hand, as tools to reach potential investors, and on the other, to raise their awareness and improve their investment skills.
