Jacek Jastrzębski, Chair of the KNF, appeared at the inauguration of the 2nd edition of the ESG Academy at the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw.

In his speech, he said that ESG had become an important and lasting element of the reality of financial institutions which attracts a lot of attention when it came to creating ESG strategies. An increasing number of customers pay attention to ESG factors, so it is hard to discuss ESG as a temporary trend or short-lived concern.

Jacek Jastrzębski also emphasised that the current edition of ESG Academy began at a unique point of time, given the context of the U.S. presidential election result, which might have a major influence on the perception of phenomena related to the approach to ESG, with material differences between the American and the continental Europe’s perspectives that had already emerged anyway. Jacek Jastrzębski added that an important factor in this would be the competitiveness of the European economy versus the U.S. Economy and versus the Chinese economy.

The ESG Academy is organised by the Foundation for the Faculty of Management in collaboration with the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw, in cooperation with the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
