Project name: "EU Supervisory Digital Finance Academy: Strengthening Supervisory Capacity in Innovative Digital Finance – EU SDFA 1.0"
Scope of support:
As part of the second allocation of the EU Technical Support Instrument, the UKNF took part in the European Commission’s flagship project – Supervisory Digital Finance Academy 1.0.
The initiative aimed to strengthen the supervisory capacity with respect to innovative digital finance and the use of technology in supervisory activities. Implemented in 2022–2025, the project was in line with the objectives of the EU Digital Finance Strategy and the need to foster the convergence of supervision over the financial sector activities in the EU.

The Academy’s training programme was carried out in cooperation with the European Commission’s Reform and Investment Task Force (SG REFORM), European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, ESMA, EIOPA), and the European University Institute – Florence School of Banking and Finance (EUI-FBF). The lecturers at the Academy included members of the academic staff of the EUI-FBF, experts from the European Commission, EBA, ESMA, EIOPA, international organisations, and the private sector.
37 supervisory authorities from 26 EU Member States, including the UKNF, participated in the Academy.
During three annual editions, from October 2022 to July 2025, almost 200 representatives of the UKNF attended the training programme consisting of 65 onsite basic and advanced training sessions, e-learning sessions, and hybrid sessions.
Project activities covered topics related to current challenges, among others in the area of Artificial Intelligence and SupTech, as well as the issue of regulations in the field of digital finance.
The project was financed by the European Union under the TSI, in cooperation with the European Commission (SG REFORM).
