Jacek Jastrzębski, Chair of the KNF, met last Thursday with Maria Luís Albuquerque, Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union. 

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairs of the KNF – Marcin Mikołajczyk and Krystian Wiercioch – as well as representatives of the UKNF and of the European Commission.

The meeting concerned, among other things, matters related to the strategy for and planned work on the Savings and Investments Union, market integration, and activities aimed at enhancing competitiveness, autonomy and the security of capital markets, including further supervisory convergence. Another topic of the discussion was the need to strengthen supervision over entities pursuing cross-border activities and build a culture of investments and long-term savings with a view to support the development of the capital market and, thus, the economy as a whole. Yet another subject addressed were proposals that are to be implemented as part of the Omnibus initiative in order to simplify the reporting on sustainability so that it remains proportional, pragmatic, and adjusted to the operational capabilities of businesses.
